Off To URUGUAY!!!!

Hola!!! I can't believe I've almost finished my time here at the ccm. I leave for Uruguay early on Tuesday and will be traveling all day before I finally get there Wednesday morning!! Wish me luck!! 


This week my companions and i have met some of the sweetest Latina hermanas. They have the kindest hearts and are so patient with our terrible spanish. They also have such a different culture than us hahah I love it. One night this week, my comps and I went to a latina district's Casa for a devotional. This one hermana came up to me all excited, and leaned towards the side of my face. I of course thought she was going to whisper something in my ear. Then she suddenly kissed my cheek. I was so shocked and slightly embarrassed because I was not expecting that hahah!! Even though I was flustered for a sec there, I loved it and how their culture is so loving and welcoming to everyone.


Sometimes talking in spanish can be very frustrating. I love these girls so much, and I want so badly to be able to communicate with them, but my Spanish is really limited and I speak very slowly. The mtc president spoke to us in a devotional this week that really helped me have patience with my learning and helped me realize I need to trust in the Lord. He shared D&C 90:11 which says "every man shall hear the fulness of the gospel in his own tongue, and in his own language, through those who are ordained unto this power." He explained that as missionaries in the CCM, we have been ordained to learn Spanish. The lord has called us to preach the gospel in Spanish and will help us missionaries in our earnest efforts. I love this scripture so much! The lord trusts us and helps us in our callings!


Ahhh I'm so excited!! This time next week I'll be in Uruguay! whatttt!?!?

Hi guys!!! I finally made it to Uruguay!! I've been here for about a week and a half now!! My area is Rocha which I think is about 3 hrs from Montevideo. The people here are so nice and patient with my spanish, especially my companion. She's from Idaho and is the nicest ever!  We went on exchanges this week and I spent the day with another hermana in San Carlos. She has been here only 6 weeks longer than me so we are both still learning spanish! Im still shocked that our companions trusted us enough to be in charge of an area for a day but it all worked out. Not gonna lie it was way scary going around trying to teach people when we had no clue what anyone was saying!!! The people here looooove to talk and tell stories and so it's a stressful guessing game trying to choose which facial expression to make while they're telling me stories because I never can tell if they're sad stories or happy ones. Hahaha please pray for my spanish. Being in Uruguay is so cool though...

Happy Monday! How is everyone? Summer has definitely started down here! This week was one of the hottest yet. On Tuesday I left the house without a hat on. Bad mistake. I got sunburned so badly my eyelids are swollen! Hahah I think I've learned my lesson. Send some snow my way please!  This week I hit my 15 month mark. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. Praying For Rain

Hi everyone! I hope you all are doing well! This week was so awesome! We found 7 new people to teach and are so excited because we are finally seeing success in our area! It's definitely been a struggle though because the heat is so intense!! Apparently there is a big drought going on right now and so they're starting to shut the water off in different cities near my area.  Our mission leaders had us all buy emergency water today so that we can all be prepared because we don't know when they will turn off the water or for how long..... ahhh pray for us here in Uruguay!!  I miss you all!!
