Ahh you guys what a crazy mix of emotions! A little bit ago I hit my halfway mark as a missionary. So crazy! Time has passed by so fast. I've been thinking a lot recently about how grateful I am for the opportunity to serve. The mission has taught me so many important lessons. I feel like I've learned and grown so much already so I can only imagine what's in store for the next few months. While I sure do miss life in the US, I am trying to take advantage of every moment I have in Uruguay. Never again will I have this opportunity to live the Uruguayan life! So I'm so excited that for the next 9 months I'll still be able to enjoy the beautiful sunsets, eat alfajores, greet with kisses, buy bizcochos, meet sweet members, have dulce de leche, enjoy tortas fritas, spend time with abuelitas, eat empanadas, talk with los gauchos, walk in the campo, speak spanish, drink mate...!! I love you guys and I love being a missionary<3 Vamo arriba!!!! Xoxox Hermana  Heyborne PICS...

LOS CEIBOS!!

Hey everyone!! What a crazy past couple of weeks! I got transferred...!! Treinta y Tres has my whole heart, honestly being there and getting to know the people really changed my life and i am so grateful that i got to spend almost 5 months there<3  Anyways my new area is called Los Ceibos! It's in a little town called Barros Blancos, and it's pretty close to Montevideo (the capital). The people here are so welcoming and I already love my new comp! It is pretty different area though! There is a big drought in Uruguay right now and I have been hearing for a while now that they ran out of water reserves...!! the people are saying that they started to pull water out of the ocean to use as drinking water. They say they add lots of chemicals to filter it, but they can't seem to get rid of the salt. I didn't believe it until i came here... and oh my gosh let me tell you that it is true!! even with two different high tech filters we cannot filter out t...
