Merry Christmas you guys!! I hope everyone had the best time. I had so much fun here! I got to celebrate the Uruguayan way!! In Uruguay their Christmas celebration starts on Christmas Eve at 9pm. Everyone eats lots of food, kids open their presents, and they all party late into the night. We went to our branch president's house the night of the 24th and it was so fun! But oh my goodness they gave me sooooo much food!!! They started out passing around mini sandwiches and sausages and pizza (the pizza here is just bread with tomato sauce hahah) and lotssss of Coca-Cola. It was really good but they kept putting more and more food on my plate and we just had to eat it all hahaha. Finally around 10pm they started taking all the food back to the kitchen. But little did we know that was just the appetizers so they start bringing out the main course and gathering everyone around the table and me and my companion were stressing bc we couldn't eat anymore hahaha! The branch president dro...

Christmas Party!!!

Hey guys!! I hope everyone is so excited for Christmas! This week was super chill. We had a multi zone conference in Montevideo and then our branch Christmas party on Saturday! It was so fun. We had so many of our investigator friends come!!! We got so excited because they all came up to us and promised that they would be at church the next day!! One thing I've learned on my mission is that if it sounds too good to be true you're probably right...but we still had hope :') Sadly none of our friends made it to church the next day. But there's always next sunday hahaha;);) I love you all so much!! I hope everyone has the best christmas this week! I'm so grateful especially this time of year for my Savior and His sacrifice. I find so much joy and comfort in His gospel! ☆☆☆ "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, Th...

Hi guys!!! This week it started to get hotttt in Uruguay!! At first I thought I was being a baby because 37°C didn't sound that bad to me, but then we looked it up and it's 99°F !!! And the sun really is so strong here that we wear so much sunscreen but then sweat it off by the end of the day hahaha #missionarylife #sunburns  One day this week we had a lunch with an older woman from our ward. She's 80 years old and will remind you that every time you see her hahaha she really is the cutest ever. As me and my comp were leaving our apartment to head over to her house, my companion stops me and says that I'll need to bring a zip lock bag with me to lunch.... (if you know what I mean). She said that since this lady was super old, she cant cook super well because she has trouble seeing and hearing. I was so scared hahah because I hadn't had a bad encounter with food yet. So I did what any other terrified new missionary would do and prayed my little heart out on our walk ...

ROCHA

Hi guys!!! I finally made it to Uruguay!! I've been here for about a week and a half now!! My area is Rocha which I think is about 3 hrs from Montevideo. The people here are so nice and patient with my spanish, especially my companion. She's from Idaho and is the nicest ever!  We went on exchanges this week and I spent the day with another hermana in San Carlos. She has been here only 6 weeks longer than me so we are both still learning spanish! Im still shocked that our companions trusted us enough to be in charge of an area for a day but it all worked out. Not gonna lie it was way scary going around trying to teach people when we had no clue what anyone was saying!!! The people here looooove to talk and tell stories and so it's a stressful guessing game trying to choose which facial expression to make while they're telling me stories because I never can tell if they're sad stories or happy ones. Hahaha please pray for my spanish. Being in Uruguay is so cool though...
